There has been much discussion and debate around the details of The Cabin in the Woods, and the film has been getting one of those distasteful tongue baths by thronging hoards of self-aggrandizing nerds everywhere. I never saw Firefly when it was aired originally on Fox, I know I’m not alone in that, but I did fall under it’s spell via DVD sometime in 2004. The show grabbed me by the throat about 8 minutes into the first episode and never let go until the closing credits of the fourteenth episode. I really enjoyed the show and upon repeat viewings I enjoyed Firefly even more. Unfortunately when I watched Firefly about 6 months ago, after not seeing it in a couple of years, I was saddened to find this time out I didn’t like it all that much. More on that in a moment.
