Burt Gummer’s Rec Room

A gathering place for paranoid survivalists and those who worship at the Church of Chang

August 2015: Dryer than a bone, and hotter than the surface of the sun- yup, it’s summertime in Perfection and El Blanco is on the prowl.

Disclaimer: This is the part of the Church that is the most no holds barred. None of it is intended with malice, and although it can on occasion seem a little bit fraught, it is banter rather than venom. So, be warned that this is like taking a naked swim in a piranha tank and not recommended for the faint of heart.

Finished Lost in Space, I like it. The family dynamic works for the most part, Parker Posey is better than expected as Dr. Smith, the robot’s background and how that is connected to everything going on is a different approach, but I like it.

Halfway through season 1 of Ozark. Really good, but…lot of circumstantial stuff going on. I have to put some of that aside, and it works.

Hi Tom, Xi, Barfy, Pilow, Blitz and Wolfie
    Good to see youse.
I’m just sitting in my rocking chair with a can of schllitz in one hand and a shockwave in the other. Xi knows what a shockwave is. Very impractical but looks impressive.Zombies have stayed away so far.

    *Dr. Nick voice* Hi everybody.

My phone died, so haven’t been able to really get on the internet since the Pandemic died. But hope everyone is making it through this.

    • Just Pillow Talk says :

I just found out my local brewery delivers! Just placed an order for some 4 packs…think it will help me through it.

Hey, Conti, good to see you around.

Yeh, on the roof at the moment, got a bed sheet stretched right across with ‘HELP’ on it. Hopeful the spotter planes will see me. If not, gotta hope these zombies don’t learn how to climb; they think I’ve got toilet roll…

Conti, good to see you bro.

    ATTENTION PILLOW!

Last Kingdom S4 starts 26 April.

    • Just Pillow Talk says :

I know, cannot wait. Watching Ozark and this at the same time is a pretty sweet combo.

      • tombando says :

Saw Gator for first time in ages. Pretty ok, drags a bit, best part is the motorboat chase at the start. I enjoyed it.

        Hanging in there here.

Anyone here watch the Korean show KINGDOM on Netflix? If not, I recommend it.

  8. tombando says :

Caught Lego Movie 2–enjoyable, and Parasite
the Korean borderline 30s screwball comedy that starts out great but doesn’t know when to quit. I liked it but not so sure it was all that.

  9. Just Pillow Talk says :

Xi, finished season 4 of Last Kingdom.

Been thinking on it, it was good and all…thought 1st half better than 2nd half. And I will say it was more acute the dropoff from Alfred to Edward this season of course. I certainly hope they see this through and finish off the books. Need him to take back his home.

    • Xiphos0311 says :

I didn’t realize they released all the episodes of TLK. I guess I best get busy and catch up.

      • tombando says :

I did see Thunderball for first time in decades. Still works. Harpoon guns, fleeting jetpack use, French brunette that just passed on, etc. Pretty good.

  10. tombando says :

*The Good Dinosaur—Oh okay, basic meh Pixar. 5 years already! It was decent. Sam Elliott as a TRex.

*Ahnold in The Last Stand–Sheriff Ahnold stops an escaped con at the Mexican Border, who is trying to do this the Fast and Furious Way. It doesn’t really work, though it’s an ok time-passer. Sommerton AZ? I donno.

*On the the last season of Unsolved Mysteries-Classic(TM), with a visibly ailing and aging Robert Stack, season 12. They did a weird thing-they had Virginia Madson in there for the 2nd CBS year of this-year 11, she co-hosted a half dozen shows-and I remember it Very clearly-wearing a trenchcoat and all–but they went and wiped this part all out when it went into syndication/onto Lifetime. Robert looped over all her narration-you can tell it’s done when he was fighting prostate cancer-his voice is pretty weak–and the inserts that she’d done has him using the Lifetime season sets and etc. It’s–Weird. Anyways. I like how the updates keep showing these killer husbands turning up 14 years later in Rio or the Phillipines or how it was some random killer who did the deed, not one of the suspects they covered in the segment, DNA and all that. Show has a weird penchant for all things Psychic–but overall-especially the earlier years-it holds up pretty okay. Again–you gotta LIKE Robert Stack and this sorta thing.

One episode got REALLY meta–it was about another missing wife in Arkansas, and they tracked down the killer who was sitting there Watching the episode About himself right there-the Update segment showed the reenactors on the TV being watched up the Reenactors watching the show(!) and they didn’t use the same actors for it! It was a riot. If that makes sense? Anyways–clearly I have too much time on my hands but this was a hoot.

*Good Will Hunting and Good Morning Vietnam–two good turns by Mork. I liked Good Will Hunting better this time around, I didn’t wanna slap Matt Damon as bad for whatever reason, Good Morning Vietnam has a pretty good cast around Mork there in the Nam. Still fun.

  11. Just Pillow Talk says :

Watched Super 8 again, this time with the kids. I like it, I think the kids are really good in it, which makes up for anything else with the alien itself. The alien isn’t memorable but serves its purpose for the most part. My daughters really liked the movie, and they too liked the kids in it.

    • M. Blitz says :

Decided to follow your example and got a little batch of dandelion wine going a few days ago. I didnt feel like waiting for yeast to arrive and the dandelions were looking fresh and plentiful so this batch is gonna be a wild ferment. Today it is fizzing and bubbling like crazy. So stoked!

      • Just Pillow Talk says :

Nice. You should try mead as well. I have not yet, but the process is the same as well.

I ordered some Chiliean juice, Cabernet Sauvignon (4 buckets) and a bucket of Sauvignon Blanc. Bottled the Pinot Noir, it has mellowed a bit on the sweetness, so I am hoping sitting for some months in the bottle will further that.

      • M. Blitz says :

I guess it’s part mead…..i used a combo of sugar and some raw orange blossom honey. Getting a batch of strawberry going too. A proper assortment of brewing yeasts is on the way but hoping this one will taste good. I’m kind of shocked at how active it is, but it’s in the same corner of the kitchen as the sourdough starter, so we’ll see!

      • Xiphos0311 says :

Making bread and mead? get an ax and a long ship next and you will be a proper viking raider. Hail Odin!

      • M. Blitz says :

I was just reading about the pieces of wood carved with runes they’d drop in the ferment, with the yeast getting caught in the carvings. Pretty genius.

  12. tombando says :

I’ve been watching Clone Wars on Disney, first 2 seasons are pretty okay. Animation is video gamey and the Jedi are over powered etc, but it’s not bad. Shows the potential of the Prequels Universe. So I will keep at it some more.

    • Just Pillow Talk says :

My daughters love that show, particularly Ahsoka who becomes a large part of the story in the last season. A few of the clone characters tie back to Rebels and apparently Ahsoka will be in the second season of the Mandalorian. They have been watching all the seasons again.

      • tombando says :

Yeah It’s for youngerish audiences no doubt, but so are most of the SW movies. I like the call-backs to the varied Cantina aliens-including those guys that looked like Waffle Irons and the white dudes with the 6 eyes, here they are yeti types. For the most part the eps are not bad. Couple draggy stretches.

I prefer Rise of Skywalker-bonkers overdone ending and all-to Last Jedi. I don’t think it’s all that Great, mind-but watching it twice I enjoyed it 4 months apart again.

    • M. Blitz says :

How many seasons of that did they do? I watched the first season forever ago and quite liked it.

I’ve been watching a lot of random stuff. From 70s eps of Tattletales (sparking a lowkey Ken Berry obsession) and 60s eps of Search for Tomorrow to Eight Men Out (Strathairn forever) to Strictly Ballroom, Mo Money and Shaft. Also, West World season 3 which pretty much sucked.

      • Just Pillow Talk says :

So I had to look it up, 7 seasons. A bunch of years between seasons 6 and 7. Not sure what spurred them to do a season 7.

On a related note…watched Rise of Skywalker again and I didn’t dislike it quite as much. I really do think it’s because my girls wanted to rewatch the prequels (don’t ask) and compared to those, it’s so much better. Seriously, the acting in the prequels is even worse than you remember. And the CGI settings really pull you out of the prequels, really bad. So I think it’s a comparison thing going on.

      • M. Blitz says :

It’s beem awhile for the prequels but i have a mental soft spot for the stilted weirdness. The aesthetic of new star wars….i just havent been able to get over it. I actually pumped my fist when i saw your girls wanted to rewatch the prequels. Bizarrely invested in defending the prequels for some stubborn reason. The idiosyncracies i guess. So why did they want to watch them??

      • Just Pillow Talk says :

All related to the Clone Wars, since the cartoon did a better job than the horrific acting of Hayden in the movies. It actually fleshed out the character better, which is pretty funny. They also like and laugh at some of the bad dialogue.

With the sequels, they don’t like Rey.

      • M. Blitz says :

Damn, I wish I knew some kids. Observing a young person watching the new ones would be compelling enough, I think, to overcome the aesthetic block.

Hayden was pretty bad lol on his imdb it says he’s in Rise of Skywalker, is he in it in it? Or just like, quick flashes?

      • Just Pillow Talk says :

I am guessing he was one of those many jedi voices Rey heard during her little chat with the Emperor.

      • M. Blitz says :

Have you had any bottles explode on you? That part is slightly freaking me out. Bout to drink this (sweet but tasty, potentially quite hangover-fueling) dandelion wine-mead hybrid over ice and call it a day lol

      • Just Pillow Talk says :

Nope. I bottled my first batch back in November and have bottled around 200 total, no issues. I have a nice Italian corker stand, let it stand upright for a week, then put them on their side in my racks.

      • M. Blitz says :

Hah, damn, legit. Corks *would* mitigate the possibility, wouldnt they. Naturally, I was planning to go a more cobbled-together, cheaper/sketchier way.

      • Just Pillow Talk says :

        Ya gotta go with corks.

      • M. Blitz says :

Just strained a batch of wild fermented strawberry honey wine into bottles topped with balloons. Less than 2 hours later and the balloons are bigger than lightbulbs!

Think I’m gonna gently prime the dandelion and put it in the fridge for a little while. Also got a bit of kvass going with the end of a rye sourdough loaf, some strawberries, mint, a bit of honey & lemon and sourdough starter/yeast. Never had kvass before, so won’t really be able to gauge much beyond whether it tastes good to me.

I found a roll of ph strips I forgot I had and have made a new hobby of ph testing everything lol repeatedly.

      • M. Blitz says :

        Update: Kvass is deeeeelicious

  13. M. Blitz says :

I am def getting old cuz I watched Bloodsport for the billionth time but for the first time in yhe sense that JCVD appeared almost childishly young to me. Fuck!

Also nursing a new dislike of Matt Damon (wtf was coppola thinking with The Rainmaker? I forgot he made that. Boring as fuck. And why is Matt Damon a thing??? He was pretty much only good in School Ties (also watched)). And nursing a renewed crush on Clayton Rohner (circa One of the Guys and Modern Girls). Good times.

    • Continentalop says :

I don’t mind Damon is The Departed and Ford V Ferrari, but man does he suck in action movies like The Bourne Identity. And always thought Good Will Hunting overrated.

      • M. Blitz says :

Hah totally forgot he was in The Departed. Never bothered with him as Bourne. Damon is like a balled up wad of wonder bread to me. Pretty sure i stole that phrase from somewhere. He doesn’t exactly inspire originality I guess(!) Do want to see Ford v Ferrari though.

  14. M. Blitz says :

    Also, RIP Jerry Stiller

  15. M. Blitz says :

Last one, cuz it amazes me to no end

  16. tombando says :

    Couple more:
I Tonya: 2017 psuedo bio of Tonya Harding starring Harley Quinn(who is half a foot taller) , lotsa 4th wall breaking etc. You do feel for her but still she’s her own worse enemy. Pretty good, horrific mom and marriage, funny in places. It’s worth while.

Annihilation: 2018 Natalie Portman, Fast Times gal, etc. Alien rock hits Bayou country lighthouse, mutates everything round it, spreads etc. Biologist Portman and 4 other women go into it as a team, armed w guns and tents to do…Something? As everyone else has disappeared or died before. Hijinks ensue-big crock, mutated bear, people turned into plants I think? Anyways 2 of them get to lighthouse. there’s more hijinks w grenades and Natalie walks out, threat gone etc. Slow paced, strange character bents, could have been better but ehh? Decent hulu timekiller I suppose.

  17. M. Blitz says :

Anybody watching Tales from the Loop? Thinking of watching that soon.

Tonight’s plan. Finish making this chocolate babka, indulge various vices, watch Seinfeld in bed til the sugar coma takes me.

It’s nice and hot out and I am getting antsy for having people around.

    • Barfy says :

Not a lesser babka like the cinnamon babka.
      Hey Blitz!
I’m interested in your dandelion wine. How much longer before it’s drinkable and gives a buzz?

      • M. Blitz says :

Barfy! How’s it going? No lesser babkas around here!

Umm, this dandelion batch is rather mmmm, ad hoc, shall we say, but probably now? It’s showing only the slightest activity at this point, so I think letting it sit would slowly bring the sweetness down, but definitely seems drinkable and buzzy now. So, a couple weeks roughly? It’s a bit beyond ‘wine cooler’ status at this point, tastewise. I’m not a huge fan of sweet wines usually, and ‘i made it’ ego may be getting involved here, but tastes good to me. Kind of floral, citrus-y wine taste with a honey aftertaste 🙂

If you’re thinking of busting out a batch, def go for it. You can use nearly anything edible, and if you don’t like how it’s shaping up, just let it turn to vinegar and cook with it. Really nothing to lose!

      • Xiphos0311 says :

It would have to be bourbon and barrels of it.

      • Barfy says :

Yeah yeah! Want to hear about the final tasting. The description of floral, citrus and honey sounds like Tina Turner/Proud Mary. Starts off nice and easy and your kickass wine finishes nice and rough. What a cool thing to do during lock down time. Any other brewing experiment in mind?

      • Barfy says :

Going to need a bigger corn field to make corn mash moonshine. 🙂

      • Xiphos0311 says :

That would need to be a LARGE field of corn…..

      • M. Blitz says :

The dandelion wine is currently at ~11% abv. For reference, the strawberry wine started last week is at ~ 6%.

Super into making kvass out of bread heels and berries. It’s like soda. Or a better tasting version of kombucha. Or realllllly weak beer. Only takes a few days though, and really nice when it’s brutally hot out.

      • Xiphos0311 says :

        Time to make the Pruno!

  18. Just Pillow Talk says :

Finished the 3 seasons of Ozark. Much preferred season 1 to the next two…just got too far over the top in the last two seasons. The tension was there in season 1 and felt more believable in my opinion.

  19. tombando says :

Couple three movies I don’t think I’d Really seen before, just parts of…til now.

*Escape From New York–yeah, I know. You’re not gonna believe it. But I don’t think I’d ever sat thru all of it. And how does it hold up? Well—Russell is pretty cool if one note, Borgnine is fun, Lee Van Cleef is what you expect, I enjoyed Isaac Hayes as the Big Baddie ‘the Duke’, hrmmm what else. It has it’s moments. You have a jetliner heading right at the Twin Towers at the start(!), and you get someone Landing on’em with another(!). I enjoyed what I saw. Oh, Harry Dean Stanton is worth the price of admission, and then there’s Adrienne Barbeau, the cleavage out on display the SAME amount the whole movie–never adjusts her wardrobe once. I’m not complaining, mind. Our friend from Halloween as the Prezzie was cool too.

I think the movie works for what it’s worth-it’s NOT high budget, it IS dated, how could it not be-it’s 40 years old now–but if you wanna get a looksee, yeah it’s worth it. I never saw the belated sequel Escape from LA….

*The Phantom–Billy Zane as our friend in the Purple Tights, Kristy Swanson as the GF, Treat Williams miscast as the baddie, familiar faces galore including the cabbie and the corrupt cop. One of the bad guys from 48 Hours-James Remar-is Chief Thug for Williams. I kept NOT placing him til the end.

This struck me as being another in the Rocketeer-Shadow-Congo-Anaconda-Mummy run, B movies of the past given big 90’s budgets. It’s tongue in cheek-it moves right along, it was shot in Thailand partly and just looks great. There’s some awfully DUMB action scenes-Phantom swipes a biplane and…is successfully followed below by his Horse and Dog, through Miles of Jungle-and he manages to bail from the plane onto the back of the horse before it crashes…I call this Bionic Animal Syndrome-they never give up or have endurance issues or whatever. Then there’s the part where Phantom is hanging on a pontoon as it flies all the way across the Pacific(?) from the States. You hadda know the audience was howling at that one.

They moved the setting from Africa to a vaguely IndoChinese one, which Kinda works? I liked the Chinese Pirate Lair that appears from nowheres at the end, lotsa sword fighting and etc. The Magic Doohickeys-3 skulls, kinda….shoot heat rays from their eyeballs when you get them together. It’s silly.

But I enjoyed it, donno if I’d watch it again mind–it’s better than it should be. It’s harmless.

*White Lightning–Burt! Bo! And Ned! I don’t think I caught this, thought I had–but okay. Pretty danged good. Love the car-chases, thought Burt was in good form, you like the cast–it’s cool to see Beatty as a baddie, RJ Armstrong ditto, movie has some funny parts and neato location shots. Wasn’t upset to see the way the baddie got it at the finale, too. Worth your time if you like Burt! and those Smokie and Bandits type flicks of the era.

  20. tombando says :

    What else have I watched….

Lotsa Elway greatest hits from You Tube-Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen were great covering those.

1984 Cubs with Harry Carey. Love it.

Trio of Rocketman(pretty ok), Whitney(bio) and More docs.

    The usual fun

  21. M. Blitz says :

    Recent viewing:

A woman on her knees with her hands over her eyes when a cop runs up and kicks her in the chest

An old man standing alone with a cane and then a bunch of cops run over and knock him down

A man shouting at a formation of cops who then run up, douse him in pepper spray and drag him away

A news crew being fired on by cops

Some people on their porch being fired on by cops parading down their street

A couple in their car, tased, sprayed, dragged out of the car by cops

A journalist now missing an eye due to cops

A group of people standing in the road with their hands up and then cops storming them

A girl with a chunk of her forehead missing after being fired on by cops

A reporter being arrested while doing his job

A small group of people rammed by a cop car

A larger group of people rammed by cop cars

Etc. Etc. Etc. Just fucking disband the police and call it a day. FUCK.

  22. M. Blitz says :

Nearby, in one of the rural neighboring counties here, a little awhile ago cops just showed up, suited up, once again, to confront a totally peaceful crowd of people literally just standing around having a rally, with rubber bullet fire and tear gas. Like, 5 mins from my aunt’s house. I was kind of amazed they were having a rally there and watched a livestream the local newspaper put on facebook.

The cops are trying to go to war with people and are all prancing around in military gear and aiming weapons and then pulling the trigger, at people who are literally JUST STANDING AROUND. I bet these same fuckers love to mouth off about “freedom” and fetishize people dying to defend their rights, while they can’t abide anyone actually exercising those rights. Not surprised but completely fucking sickened nonetheless.

  23. tombando says :

As for me, working way through Seasons 4-9 of the Xfiles. Yes I have seen most of these before but it’s been ages for the later ones. Starting yr 7 they are in Africa w a saucer in the ocean, obvious reboot of Conspiracy. Liking it all over again.

  24. M. Blitz says :

Really tired, vaguely sick, depressed beyond words, so, not knowing what I was getting myself into, yesterday I watched Years and Years and I Know this Much is True. Was basically catatonic by the end of the night. A real one-two punch of absolute misery. I Know this Much is True especially is treading on thin ice.

I need to avoid anything having to do with schizophrenia maybe. Cuz I find any hint of the supernatural or that maybe the delusions are all true to be just unbearable. So much of the delusion content lines up so well with the stuff I hear all day/night long from a family member (who at this point I live alone with, entirely without help) I just cannot deal. Basically wept through the entire thing, which is tricky when that emotional response needs to be instantaneously turned off anytime said family member bursts into my room. I am so so so tired. The only certainity left in life is that this shit is hopeless.

    • Tombando says :

Watching season 7 of the X files you can tell it was meant to be the last one. Real going through the motions vibe to it. Some fun ones like the Ed Asner-Lily Tomlin ghosts, The Cops episode, etc. The Ravens one is stupid.

  25. Continentalop says :

    Hope everyone is staying safe.

    • Tombando says :

Yeah hanging in there Conti Pops. Enduring Transylvania 6500. Wow its…what a low budget version of Van Helsing would have been in 85. Jeff Goldblum Geena Davis etc taking the money and mugging.

      • tombando says :

        Xfiles 10-11
Now rewatching the reunion years. Hadn’t seen the Lizardman or Trashman eps of the first. Yeah both good. The Mushroom induced Mulder doing the achey breaky stuff in the next always good for a haha. Overall I like yr ten but it was not great. 11 starts out with them retconning the Doomsday finale of the prior season w hokey ‘it was all a dream ‘ nonsense. But I think the 2nd season of this was better

  26. Tombando says :

Watching Firefly for first time. Huh-Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk. Not bad 1.5 eps in. Very Whedon and Space Westerny.

  27. Just Pillow Talk says :

    Watched / been watching:

Merlin – my youngest daughter loves this show.. silly harmless show.

Troy fall of a city – giant ball of meh….uninteresting characters for the most part, could give a shit about Paris/Alexander. Shortchanged battle scenes (what scenes you could ask), not made up for with any interesting dialogue.

Pirates of the Caribbean series – watched the first 4 so far with my oldest daughter, these are quite the chore to get through, especially the 4th. She liked the first 3. Thank goodness only one left, not looking forward to it.

Artemis Fowl – what a mess of a movie, incoherent, uninteresting. No wonder this was shelved for so long.

    • Tombando says :

Yeah those latter Pirates flix are dire. Can’t tell apart or remember much from them.

      • ThereWolf says :

First one was decent, I thought, good fun. Second one… just found it tiresome to sit through. Third one seemed to go on for what felt like weeks, I’d lost all my happy thoughts by the end credits. Will not bother with any more, thank you.

  28. ThereWolf says :

    Everyone still good?

Anyone tried drinking/ injecting disinfectant yet? I’d be really interested to hear about the results.

    • Just Pillow Talk says :

I blend my disinfectant with my beer or wine. I do 10% disinfectant, so that just means I have to drink more to get my full dose.

    • Just Pillow Talk says :

      Speaking of which….

“Three people died and one is permanently blind from methanol poisoning after drinking hand sanitizer in New Mexico, health officials said.

An additional three people are in critical condition, the New Mexico Department of Health said in a statement. “All seven people are believed to have drunk hand sanitizer containing methanol,” it said.”

  29. Xiphos0311 says :

Here are some shows I’ve watched over the last few months, isn’t many since I’ve been super busy. I did not start a business to work this much. I even hired somebody which I didn’t want to do.

Stargirl the newest entry in the Arrowverse and its probably the best one, yeah i said it. Its a fun nice little romp minus all the ANGST of the other shows. I am surprised by how much I like it.

Snowpiecer, sucks as much as the movie did if not more so. it makes zero sense and is badly acted, directed, written etc etc etc. i am also surprised by just how bad it looks.

Hightown. If I was from Providence or gay I would sue the shit out this terrible show for defamation. That being said stripper Mom being used by both the cops and her drug king pin baby daddy is super sexy and nudes up A LOT.

Perry Mason reboot. this show is good, two episodes in. Very noirish and gives off a Chinatown vibe(credit to Barfy for that observation). It had one of the funniest sex scenes I’ve seen lately. The look on Mason’s face throughout it made me laugh. it also did a great version of trench warfare in WW 1 in a flashback in the second episode. Its good so far.

Space Force. Or as I thought of it The office in space. It is basically The Office in tone and comedy beats and having Michal Scott staring in it doesn’t help. its also not very funny so it shares that problem with the first season of The Office.

Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. It had an out gay Gestapo officer in it that’s how bad it was. I would totally watch a show about Nathan Lane’s character though he was great. Everybody else not so much.

There are others but I can’t remember what they are which tells you how bland and unmemorable they were.

    • Tombando says :

Hrmm Monsterquest, Firefly, Yancy Derringer, The Real McCoys, etc. Lotsa Amazon Prime stuff. Derringer is Jock Mahoney and The Dr on Little House in Bat Masterson knock off. 6 eps in Claude Akins and Leo Gordon already have shown. Typical of the shows.

Mccoys had Walter Brennan and Richard Crenna doing Beverly Hills stuff a half decade earlier but broke. It’s ok heavy on the sentiment. Charles Lane already has been there 6 eps in.

Monster Quest was another Crypto show save not Quite as bogus as the later Destination America Mtn Monster things. Hits the same stations of the cross though.

Firefly is what you remember. 6 episodes in still doing its thing.

  30. M. Blitz says :

Welp, my brother threw out all the wine/mead I was making, so i guess that’s that. It was coming along beautifully, too. Fucking sucks.

    • Xiphos0311 says :

That sucks sorry to hear. Besides that crap how are you doing blitz?

Setting aside family and work, pretty good! Been on a fassbender kick.

So what’s this about you starting a business? That’s exciting

I’ve always done handy man and construction as a side job. Now that I am retired i can devote all my time to it and where I live is booming so I get a lot of work both subcontracting and word of mouth referrals. Because of the bug I’m super busy. My original plan was like 3 days a week for like 6 hours or so. Now I’m working 6-7 days a week like 10-14 hrs.

Watched Mission Impossible flicks, 3-6, with my oldest daughter. She really likes them, and I do too. Just need her to watch the first, which is much more reserved than these which are more over the top. Skipping the second at all costs.
