Welcome back to HIGHLANDERPALOOZA.
This time out, there’s more of us involved and we’re taking on the sequel to the original hugely entertaining Highlander with Highlander 2: The Quickening.
The time is coming up for 8pm, hopefully everyone has enough beer to make it through, and everyone has the film cued and ready to go.
Personally, I think that this sequel is shit on a stick and can’t believe I’m watching it again.
Anyway, not to prejudge, but from memory I’m giving this one chang. If events unfold and it needs upgrading, then I’ll come back and change this, but I seem to remember this being dire.

Tough call. H2 is enraging and awful beyond words, yet the entertainment value of its heinousness is undeniable.
I think this is so undeniably horrible, yet daftly entertaining that it requires something different.

Yeah I still check in every now and then. I’m really sort of amazed how dead the place feels. Only talkbacks about Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, or Trek/Aliens seems to generate hits above 200 posts. Lots of people got banned for stupid reasons, and lots of others seem to have left. Its kind of depressing.
How’d you find your way here? I don’t stop by nearly as much as I should.

It’s got its flaws, but The Expendables is huge fun for old school action fans. I enjoyed it just as much second time around.
They definitely need more Crews in part two, though.
It’s been a rum old year for action. I thought THE LOSERS was a sure thing for an awesome movie, but the plot was nonsensical, it was far too obvious who the traitor would be, and they criminally missed the opportunity for Javier Bardem’s twin bro to go up to Jason Patric at the end and say “And you must be Max”. Fucking amateurs.
Then THE A-TEAM… I like the tank thing in the trailer, but was otherwise dead against this movie. Guess what? Fucking LOVED it. Silly as hell and played to perfection. Yes, even Bradley Cooper, who made a great Face Man.
And then THE EXPENDABLES, which I thought looked like a movie with no plot, no purpose and too many stars… Turned out to be my favourite of the three. Some incredible action, awesome fights, insane weaponry – and bigger practical explosions than I’ve ever fucking seen! Best action movie of the DECADE, arguably.
More Crews for EXPENDABLES 2. And give the man a free-hanging .50 cal…
